New images from Chicago Fire season 13 reveal a closer look at the team's replacement for Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), teasing what to expect from the upcoming episodes. It was previously confirmed that Boden would no longer be the Chief of Firehouse 51 going into Chicago Fire season 13, having been appointed Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department at the end of season 12. Stepping in as the team's new Chief, now, will be Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) an experienced firefighter from Miami described as a happy leader who works well in stressful situations.
Now, two images from Entertainment Weekly reveal a closer look at Chief Pascal in Chicago Fire season 13 ahead of his on-screen debut. The image shows him rescuing someone after what appears to have been a major building explosion. Another image also shows familiar members of the team gathered around in response to something with two fire trucks in the street. Check out the new images of the show below:
What The New Image Of Chief Pascal Says About Chicago Fire Season 13
He'll Be Taking A Major Spotlight In His Debut Season

Pascal leading someone to safety after an explosion reflects the compassionate leader he's been described as leading up to his forthcoming debut. While he'll be replacing Boden in Chicago Fire going forward, it's clear from his character that he'll be quite different from the father-like leader of Firehouse 51. In addition to his new place as Chief, the firefighter will be dealing with marriage issues as his wife Monica (KaDee Strickland) also enters the picture. With a fleshed-out storyline being teased, it appears he'll have plenty on his plate as he joins the team.
But, even if his arrival is welcomed, it will be a difficult transition for plenty of existing characters. This includes Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg), who was told to take care of the Firehouse 51 team by Boden before his departure. Luckily, the former Chief will still be appearing in a recurring role this season, meaning any grievances the team has with their new leader could be hashed out alongside their former mentor. With Pascal becoming the new Chief, it seems Chicago Fire is expanding to new places for the characters.
Our Take On The New Image Of Chicago Fire's Chief Pascal
He's Making A Good First Impression
Although Boden's role is going to be different for the series moving forward, Pascal's willingness to go on the front lines to rescue people shows his dedication to his job already. While his arrival will create new dynamics in Chicago Fire the team will have to get used to, he seems to be slipping into his new role quite well. Although it won't be clear how dedicated he'll be until the first episode arrives, this latest image seems like a promising new start for him, and for Firehouse 51.
