Sharon and Phyllis have one of the longest feuds on The Young and the Restless. The two ladies can’t seem to put their differences aside, and love and family ties continue to complicate matters.
Legendary Rivalry’s Beginning
Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) relationship with Nick (Joshua Morrow) goes way back. They were once kids who were in love. Their relationship had its share of ups and downs along the way. That was also the case when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) entered the picture.
Nick and Sharon’s relationship was solid until her daughter Cassie (Camryn Grimes) died in a car accident. This kicked off Sharon’s feud with Phyllis. Nick had an affair with Phyllis after Cassie’s death. Phyllis got pregnant with their daughter, Summer (Allison Lanier).
Sharon eventually moved from that, but tensions grew high again when they entered a joint venture with their respective partners. Sharon, Phyllis, Nick, and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) couldn’t agree on business matters.

In the meantime, Nick waffled between both women. When Summer was a teenager, Sharon wanted to reunite with him. At the time, she struggled with her bipolar disorder. She messed with the paternity results, showing Jack as Summer’s father instead of Nick. Phyllis found out what Sharon did but ended up in a coma after falling down a flight of stairs while they argued.
That accident led to Sharon and Nick’s reunion. They planned their wedding, but Phyllis woke up from her coma, interrupting the nuptials dramatically. She told Nick what Sharon did with the paternity test results. “Shick” eventually got back together, but Nick slept with Phyllis the night before their wedding.

Understandably, Sharon and Phyllis have not gotten along well with all this baggage in their past. When Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer, Phyllis provided some unexpected support, but the two were never bosom buddies. Their feud has been building up in recent months.
Old Feelings Resurface
The feud between Sharon and Phyllis is in high gear again. Sharon hasn’t reacted well to her new meds. She’s been off the rails lately. What also hasn’t helped matters is that Sharon can’t get a grip on reality. Her hallucinations have her thinking about Nick. However, he’s spending more time with Phyllis because of Summer’s co-parenting drama.

Sharon’s old feelings have resurfaced. Her Cameron (Linden Ashby) hallucination noted that if it hadn’t been for Phyllis’s son Daniel (Michael Graziadei), then Cassie would be alive and she and Nick would still be together. Things with Sharon have gotten so bad that she’s told Phyllis to stay away from her family. Sharon didn’t like it when Phyllis visited Faith (Reylnn Caster) in the hospital. Phyllis gave her a teddy bear as a token of her love.
Sharon snatched the bear and has been keeping it with her lately. Nick may end up in the middle of Sharon and Phyllis once again. He’s concerned about Sharon’s mental health. Meanwhile, Phyllis and Nick still share a connection, and he even confided in her about Sharon’s mental problems. Sharon could lose her mind if she catches Nick and Phyllis together.
This time, it could get deadly since Sharon hears Cameron’s voice in her head, egging her on. Will she go after Phyllis and Daniel? Things are nearing a boiling point, and Phyllis will certainly be involved in Sharon’s drama.
