Back in 2016, on the seventh season of Blue Bloods and before the college admissions scandal bribery case for which she served two months in prison, Lori Loughlin guest starred on the hit CBS police drama as Grace Edwards, the wife of a slain police officer. In that episode, Grace had a meeting with Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) in hopes of convincing him to keep her only son off of the NYPD.
Fast forward to 2024 and the 14th and final season of Blue Bloods and Grace is back. Now, it’s Frank who is trying to plead his case with Grace. He didn’t prevent her son from joining the NYPD, so this may be payback, but Grace has blocked Frank’s son Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) from getting an award for his stellar work as a detective.
“My son is a decorated cop and fine family man,” Frank says in the promo for Friday night's episode.
But Grace is having none of that and replies, “He’s also from New York’s most visible cop family and enjoys a reputation as a very loose cannon.”
Not that we think Danny does his job for the perks, such as awards, but he does say, “It’s just getting really personal now,” which appears to be related to the storyline.

Also, in the “New York Minute” episode, according to CBS: “Danny and Baez [Marisa Ramirez] scrutinize an art gallery suspected of selling counterfeit pieces after a detective investigating the establishment is murdered.
“And Eddie is conflicted when she discovers her former partner-turned-social worker, Rachel Witten (Lauren Patten), crossed the line to get a mentally ill client much-needed help.”
Blue Bloods airs Friday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, and streams next day on Paramount+.
