Luke Kleintank and his wife both appear in FBI: International together, if only for a moment. FBI: International is the second spin-off of Dick Wolf's FBI franchise, first premiering in September 2021. The series follows the FBI's "Fly Team", a group of agents stationed in Budapest, Hungary, who investigate threats to American interests in Europe and across the globe. Unlike units in many other police procedurals, the Fly Team must contend with foreign jurisdictions, international law, and uneasy relationships with other countries' law enforcement agencies, giving FBI: International a unique flavor compared to similar, US-centric series.
Luke Kleintank plays Scott Forrester, the head of the Fly Team. Scott is a dedicated and talented agent, but his preoccupation with work causes his personal life to suffer and his only non-work relationship is with his ever-present dog, Tank. Scott Forrester is Kleintank's most notable role, but he's had a solid career before this performance. FBI: International is not even his first entry in a Dick Wolf production, as he's had guest spots in Law & Order: LA and SVU. He also has starring roles in Man in the High Castle and Midway. Kleintank is also not the only one in his family who has appeared in FBI: International.
Christina Vignaud Had A Non-Speaking Cameo As An Ambassador's Wife In FBI: International
Luke Kleintank's wife, Christina Vignaud, appears in a brief cameo in FBI: International as the wife of an ambassador in a short scene in season 1, episode 4, "American Optimism". In the episode, the Fly Team goes to Spain to investigate a case involving an American citizen who is accused by Spanish authorities of murdering his boyfriend. It's a very grim and upsetting crime, so the gala that happens in the episode is a welcome respite from the investigation. At the ball, the show's characters are dressed their best, for once forgoing bomber jackets and combat boots. Also dressed to the nines is Vignaud, in a stunning red gown.
Vignaud's character strides in, arm-in-arm with her ambassador husband and, though she does not speak, she shares a scene with her real-life husband Kleintank and the rest of the Fly Team as everyone mingles. While Vignaud's appearance isn't dwelt on, it's a fun Easter egg for fans of the series and of Kleintank. Dick Wolf shows like Law & Order are filled with cameos and in this episode centered on spurned lovers and violent revenge, the cameo offers a nice relief and winking in-joke for viewers.
Who Is Luke Kleintank's Wife?
Most FBI: International viewers would probably not have noticed Christina Vignaud cameoed in the series at all, which is just what Kleintank and Vignaud would prefer. The pair tend to keep their personal lives private, but it is known that Vignaud is the daughter of Argentine diplomat Carlos Vignaud, which makes her cameo as the wife of a foreign ambassador even more on the nose.
Kleintank ended up appearing less frequently in FBI: International season 2 due to the birth of his and Vignaud's daughter after they moved to Budapest for filming. Showrunner Derrek Haas tells Give Me My Remote, "Luke had a baby—he’s an awesome guy and an awesome dad. And we planned this arc around the fact that [with] a newborn, he would want some time to be a dad… We’re a family-friendly organization." Thankfully, Kleintank was able to appear on the show while still being an attentive husband and father.
