Hey Big Brother fans! We’ve got the week seven Head of Household name for you, and I’m excited because it means chaos! But even casuals may be annoyed because it means we’re going to get a week of super-duper shouty Diary Room sessions. Why? Because, yep, Quinn Martin won the HOH comp hot on the heels of being part of the core team that worked to blindside Tucker and evict the biggest competitive threat in the house. Quinn began his first real Head of Household reign last night. This is technically his second time in the boss chair because, remember, he took over Angela's second HOH with his deep fake. But this is the real deal.
After winning the key to the HOH room, Quinn started his one-on-one nomination chats that ran late into Thursday night and very early Friday morning. We’re going to have his official nominations for you later today, once they have the nomination ceremony. One person you should already know is safe: Leah. And here’s what’s crazy about Quinn’s nomination strategy this week: during all these one-on-ones, he managed to create a seven-person alliance. Do you know how many houseguests are left? Ten. Do the math on that—it leaves zero people in case Quinn needs to make a renom. Crazy!
Tor had one of the first chats with Quinn. At this point, I like her but don’t feel sorry for her because she nominated two of her allies last week. They were the two finalists on the block, and she watched Tucker walk out the door. She had a bunch of non-allies to choose from, but instead, Tor cannibalized the Sixth Avenue Alliance. Anyway, Quinn’s eye is not on Tor. He told her he is putting up Rubina and possibly Angela.
Tor suggested to Quinn that, instead, he nominate Leah and Joseph, which is hilarious. I don’t think Tor knows why it is, but we should all know that Quinn, Joseph, and Leah are in this weird thruple. They’re both infatuated with her; she finds neither of them attractive but is willing to use Quinn and Joseph as long as they’re useful to her. I mean, it’s a strategy, and it’s one we’ve seen before in Big Brother.
Quinn’s new allies also include McKenzie, who he specifically told was safe. She’s so happy, bawling about it. Joseph is hoping to keep Tor, Kimo, and Rubina all off the block, in addition to Leah, which is a losing proposition before he even started pitching it. Tor was hoping to save Rubina, and she talked to her other two allies. She did not warn Rubina or Kimo that Rubina is going up on the block.
We’ve seen this on the live feeds, even though it hasn’t been shown much on the episodes. Three of them actually shielded Quinn a bunch of times: Tor, Kimo, and Rubina defended Quinn, especially when it came to Tucker. They tried to keep him off the block and keep him from being a target. So Tor’s words of wisdom to Kimo and Rubina were to let Quinn know that because Quinn wouldn’t know it. She told them to say what they did, saving him from Tucker and other threats.
Leah’s only concern in her chat with Quinn was, of course, that she not be on the block. You got to give him a little credit because Quinn kind of low-key confronted Leah, saying he’d heard about her talking about him, throwing his name around. If you remember, she went up and actually suggested Quinn as a renom at one point for no reason other than she wanted him away from her. Despite Quinn speaking up, Leah did her thing, mesmerized him again, and Quinn was over it. She then suggested he put up Kimo to sit beside Rubina.
When talking to Joseph on the live feeds, Quinn clarified that his targets this week are Kimo, Rubina, and Angela. But when Quinn is talking to various people around the house, he changes his tune depending on who he's talking to. Some houseguests heard from Quinn that he wants Angela out; others heard that he wants Rubina out. As far as I can remember and from what I’ve seen and heard, he hasn’t told anybody that Kimo is his primary target.
Rubina got FaceTime with Quinn and turned it on, saying that now that Tucker is gone, she can play her own game. She’s not upset at Quinn or the others for voting him out. Rubina is ready to play and knows Tucker wasn’t a great Big Brother player. While chatting with Rubina, Quinn said that Angela is his target but also told Rubina that if she winds up on the block, she’s safe—she's not the target; she'd be a pawn. Then Quinn got a visit from Kimo and told him the same thing—if he goes up on the block, he’s only a pawn.
Since Tucker’s eviction, Angela has been driving the other houseguests crazier than usual with non-stop chattering, whining, and drama. Last night on the feeds, McKenzie was so annoyed she went upstairs to sit with Chelsea and Rubina, saying she wished Angela would just shut up. Angela is paranoid that she’ll be nominated by Quinn, feeling betrayed by her and because she specifically called him out in a recent speech; she should be expecting it.
Quinn put together a seven-person alliance, which is way too big at this stage because he’s immediately going to have to betray that alliance at the veto meeting if somebody but him wins the veto. Joseph probably wouldn’t play it because he doesn’t want Leah up, but if it’s somebody on the block who wins it, or Tor, Quinn will have to make a renom. McKenzie is safe, as he said, and in this alliance, we’ve got McKenzie and Tor, even though he’s going to nominate her friend Kimo and their baby Rubina. McKenzie, Tor, Chelsea, Cam, Leah, Joseph make six, and of course, Quinn makes seven.
Inside this alliance of seven, Quinn wants a core four of him, Leah, Joseph, and wait for it—Tor. Why not Chelsea? Not sure what Quinn’s thing is with Tor; she’s not a great player and essentially scared of her own shadow. She messed up her HOH by nominating two allies, and she doesn’t have the comp-winning meat shield, Tucker, to protect her anymore because of her bad game moves. Nonetheless, Quinn wants her there, and I’m expecting a meltdown from Angela when he nominates her. Cam should be doing his chill thing, Chelsea will be happy she’s not on the block, and I expect tears from Kimo when he’s nominated because he’s already in a sad place due to Tucker’s exit.
Quinn told Rubina she wasn’t his target but she might be. Of the three nominees Quinn makes today, Rubina will probably handle it with the least tears and the most grace, knowing she became a top target after Tucker’s eviction. Tor and Kimo should know they are at risk, too. I wonder if Tor will stick close to Quinn, trying to save her friends.
It should be a good week ahead, and I think this will upset a lot of people, showing some good feed action. Congrats to Quinn on his first real Head of Household win!
