Rebel Wilson Reveals Sacha Baron Cohen as the ‘Massive A**Hole’ Who Tried to Block Her Memoir

Pitch Perfect and Senior Year star Rebel Wilson has revealed that her Grimsby co-star Sacha Baron Cohen is the previously unidentified Hollywood “a**hole” that she talks about in her upcoming memoir. According to Wilson, Cohen, who is best known for the characters Ali G and Borat, has threatened Wilson with legal action regarding her book. While Wilson had kept his identity a secret at first, she has now revealed that Cohen is the co-star who attempted to silence her.

Wilson starred alongside Cohen in the 2016 spy comedy Grimsby. Directed by Louis Letterier, Grimsby follows Cohen as a dim-witted man who reunites with his long-lost brother, Sebastian, who just so happens to be one of MI6's deadliest assassins.

Last week, Wilson alluded to a… problematic star whom she had come across in Hollywood. Releasing a video on Instagram, Wilson said in a caption, “Do you wanna know why I have a “no assholes” policy now with people I work with? …Well it’s all in the book: REBEL RISING available for pre-order now (drops April 2nd, link in bio)…oh and YES I name the asshole!”

Rebel Wilson Now Has a 'No A**Holes' Policy

In the video itself, Wilson explained how, when she first came to Hollywood, she was told about other actors’ “no a**hole” policies. Something which she later adopted after working with Cohen.

“When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, yeah, ‘I have a no a**hole policy, that means like, yeah, I don’t work with a**holes.’ I was like, ‘oh yeah. I mean, that sounds sensible or logical.

But then it really sunk in what they were meaning by that, older people in the industry. Because I worked with a massive a**hole, and, yeah, now I definitely have a a**holes policy. Chapter one said a**hole – it is chapter 23, that guy was a massive a**hole.”

A representative for Sacha Baron Cohen has since released a statement calling the accusations made by Wilson in her book “demonstrably false” as proven by “eyewitness accounts” and more.

“While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”

Rebel Wilson is next due to star as a secret agent in the action comedy, Bride Hard, which, much like the action classic on which the title is based, sees her at an event taken hostage by mercenaries. In this case, said event is the wedding of her best friend.
